I for one was not really into vinegar, believing it was probably some grandmother’s tales. However, few months ago I had bought a bottle of Solana Gold’s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar from Nature’s Farm at Causeway Point for curiosity sake. Cost only about S$10 only.
However I did not really saw any good effect till my youngest son started his whooping nightly cough recently.
I had read about apple cider being a good cough remedy and so last week, when he was clearing his throat again, I gave him this concoction cure:
- Add a teaspoon of Solana Gold Apple Cider to half a glass of water. (Never Hot!!! as heat would deactivate the enyzmes – says the instruction on the bottle label)
Indeed his cough seemed to stop almost immediately and he was able to sleep well at night while his chest infection recovers. He still continues to take his TCM medications. I was beginning to suspect why my son always cough at night. It could be that he was drinking cold milk straight out from the frigde prior to his bedtime. I discuss with my wife and decided to try to at least let the milk sit for a while or change to powdered milk formula for the night at least.
Last night, I was also having some persistent cough. So, at about 1 am plus in the morning, I drag myself out from bed and took a mixture of Apple cider vinegar and water. And viola! I did not cough a bit at all, though my throat felt pretty dry, probably the aircon too. I may want to try the mixture with a bit of honey as touted in the internet as a good cough emolient.
Amongst the health benefits stated for this Apple Cider vinegar include:
* Rich in miracle enzymes & potassium
* Helps promote a youthful body
* Natural antibiotic & germ fighter
* Soothes sunburn, shingles & bites
* Helps eliminate itching scalp
* Soothes tight, aching muscles & joints
* Great for sore throats
Anyway, I believe there are other good vinegar out there too. However, this is my experience that I would like to share with you.
Take Care and Sleep Well!
